Ah it’s Fall! My favorite time of the year - the best colors and the BEST weather. Take THAT, Summer, and all your oppressive heat! Fall is also a great time for inexpensive event decorations - pumpkins and mums.
In the Kansas City area, Price Chopper and Hen House tends to have the best variety of pumpkins. They generally have pumpkins from about mid-September through mid-November. The mini-pumpkins and gourds are about 2 for $1,and $6 for the larger more exotic pumpkins. If you’ve having wedding or event in November, pumpkins are much cheaper after Halloween (imagine that).
If you’re up for a drive, head north or south to one of the pumpkin patches, they often have great deals. Weston Red Barn Farm is always a great day trip, though I am a bit biased since I got married there!
